Hi Terri,
Haven’t had sex with any new partners in about a 15 months, only had sex with one person who I trust is negative, but am not sure what her results are. She hasn’t had any outbreaks to her knowledge. Got results back of 1.9 with no confirmatory test because they ran out. Have had some nerve irritation groin pain urinary symptoms feelings of blockage random itching and tingling in my legs that has gone on for over a month or on and off for a bit longer. Am unsure if this is herpes related or related to a back Injury / nerve entrapment I may have. What do you think? Should I western blot? Or does this sound pretty positive?

Somehow forgot to mention this was an hsv2 igg test

Again forgot to mention, no blisters as fat as I can tell. Have been examining very closely but is there a chance I do have internal blisters? I have periods of feeling normal and periods where the urinate symptoms get pretty bad

Yes, you absolutely need the Western blot for confirmation. At that index value, there is about a 70% chance that this is a false positive.

Two questions
1. What’s the best way to go about getting the western blot
2. As a male, do the urinary symptoms, skin tingling / irritation / itching, and bladder / urethra pain sound consistent with herpes, or likely something else -

and for question 2, some additional backstory. no new partners in over a year, and only somebody I trust who has not had any other partners either. Had chlamydia a year ago, gave it to her, both treated. mostly protected sex, but somehow we had both tested negative for chlamydia multiple times and still somehow we both tested positive this past month. Been on doxycycline for about 4-5 weeks and tested negative for chlamydia as did she. symptoms of skin irritation, pain, and itchiness come in small flare ups but have been the worst since the course of doxycycline and the chlamadya. Been about 7-8 weeks since these symptoms started and have stayed fairly consistent.

I keep trying to include all the info but forget. Also tested negative on IGG 2 twice, once 2 months out and once 5 months out with an at home kit after risky encounters

You can work with your own provider and UW to get it or you can work with me. This is not a test you can order yourself. If you want to work with me, you can make an appointment on this website.2. Not necessarily associated with herpes, no.Very odd situation with chlamydia.
Yup, you need the blot for sure.Terri
