› Forums › Herpes Questions › Low positive test of 1.03. Wondering accuracy considering transmission-oral
A week ago I tested positive for hpv-2 at 1.03(female). I have had sex once in July using a condom for maybe 5 min. (only vaginal sex with condom and it did not break with a new partner, male). In August, I met a new partner and we had sex (5-6 times with condoms and condoms never broke, male). This partner performed oral on myself two times without (dental dam) protection. I never performed oral on him. Late August, I met a new partner, male who I performed oral on one time and we did not use condoms for oral and we did NOT have sex. During this episode he also came inside my mouth if that makes a difference, sorry to be so vulgar. A week ago I tested positive for the 1.03 no symptoms and positive for HPV-1. I have been getting tested for both herpes for years and I have never tested positive for either. No symptoms for either one. How high is the risk for oral sex and herpes including the semen? Before these men I havent had sex for over a year and a half and tested negative for both herpes before I met them. Can I catch this through these activities??
I meant herpes not hpv. Wrong initials
You don’t list the index value for HSV 1, but your HSV 2 value is equivocal not positive. I think it is unlikely that you have HSV 2.
The sexual encounters that you had a quite low risk for HSV of either type, certainly HSV 2. Condoms reduce transmission from males to females by 96%.
I would encourage you to retest with the IgG test at about 8 weeks out again and see where you stand. My guess is that you will continue to be either negative, equivocal or a low positive.
