14 days ago I had a sexual encounter with another male. We kissed, exchanged oral, and rubbed our penises together. I am married to a woman, so the rare times I engage in these dalliances, it makes me extremely anxious. 7 days ago/after the event, I underwent online std testing (they also prescribed antibiotics for ghon/chlad. All std tests came back negative, including both hsv antibody tests. I also took the antibiotics.
In the past week, I’ve noticed my penis, balls, anus, etc having some discomfort (slight skin irritation feeling when masturbating, etc) the sensations get far more pronounced when I imbibe in my nightly cannabis. I’ve been obsessively been inspecting my genitals for abnormal things. What looked like a pimple here, a small discolored spot on the shaft here. I’ve chalked both the feelings and visual notes to both an increased focus on my genital area and a self fulfilling thing – the more I mess with it, the more pronounced etc.
Yesterday, the cannabis I used, really pronounced the feelings – feeling like my penis head what hot (almost “sweating”) red, etc. I chalked it up to the pot and increased focus. I wake up usually feeling normal.
Today is day 14 post exposure. I have non-hpv warts that I use podofilox to “keep in check”. These often look like flat red dots and/blotches on my penis head. I used the solution twice this week after showering to treat. The last 24-48 hours, I’ve noticed maybe 3-4 red dots that seem flat (if I look REALLY hard, I can convince myself these aren’t flat, but it might just all be my anxiety trying to convince myself. I’ve been freaking out.
1. Does this seem like hsv? Or am I just trying to convince myself? Could these red dots (raised or not) be hsv? Or just warts/ my penis head reaction to the solution?
2 I’ve had shingles before and these are nothing like those blisters.. would hsv blisters be shingles-like?
3. Is it worth going to urgent care today? Am I out of the time window? Should I abstain from sex w/wife? -

I don’t know what you mean by non-HPV genital warts – that’s a bit of an oxymoron.
1. Does this seem like hsv? Or am I just trying to convince myself? Could these red dots (raised or not) be hsv? Or just warts/ my penis head reaction to the solution?
This does not sound like HSV to me, no.
2 I’ve had shingles before and these are nothing like those blisters.. would hsv blisters be shingles-like?
Where was your shingles? and yes, HSV blisters would look something like shingles blisters.3. Is it worth going to urgent care today? Am I out of the time window? Should I abstain from sex w/wife?
You could certainly have urgent care look at your genitals. I have no idea if you might have had HSV before this encounter or not, so I can’t address the time window and won’t give advice on if you should have sex with your wife or not, sorry. If you have concerns about skin changes in the genital area, you should have a professional do an exam in person to sort this out. I think your experience presented little risk of herpes but it was not risk free.Terri
