Hi Terri,
I recently engaged in mutual masturbation with another male. This included masturbating each other, masturbating ourselves and me fingering him anally.
While he used a different hand for masturbating me than the one he used to masturbate himself, I used the hand that I masturbated and fingered him with to masturbate myself.I did not wash the hand until we were done.
1. Is there any risk of genital HSV2 from using the hand that i fingered and masturbated him with to masturbate myself?
2. My fingers where seemingly intact, could I contract HSV Whitlow on my hand, or would there need to be a noticeably open/ deeper wound( more than a scrape)to be at risk?
2b. What are open wound on my hand he did come in contact with an open sore on him to contract whitlow, or could it happen through asymptomatic transmission?
3. Could he have had herpetic Whitlow on his hands without me noticing and used that hand to masturbate me?
4. Can I continue mutual masturbation without risk (real risk)of HSV2?
5. My regular partner and I are both HSV2 neg tested via blot, can i continue to have sex with them without fear of Infecting them with HSV2 from this encounter?
Thanks!

No2. My fingers where seemingly intact, could I contract HSV Whitlow on my hand, or would there need to be a noticeably open/ deeper wound( more than a scrape)to be at risk?
There would need to be a break in the skin for HSV to enter, correct.2b. What are open wound on my hand he did come in contact with an open sore on him to contract whitlow, or could it happen through asymptomatic transmission?
This sentence is unclear to me. In general, we don’t consider hands to be a method of transmission.3. Could he have had herpetic Whitlow on his hands without me noticing and used that hand to masturbate me?
That seems very unlikely to me – whitlow is painful and obvious4. Can I continue mutual masturbation without risk (real risk)of HSV2?
Yes5. My regular partner and I are both HSV2 neg tested via blot, can i continue to have sex with them without fear of Infecting them with HSV2 from this encounter
Yes, I believe that your encounter with the other partner was a safe one in terms of HSV 2.Terri

Quick question(s):
1.Do men shed virus from penis head as well as the shaft?
1b. Any difference in circumcised versus uncircumcised?
2.Does sucking a penis head with no lesions for 10sec or less pose a risk for oral hsv2?
2b.Does immediately(within 30 sec) using alcohol based mouthwash after 10 sec of performing oral reduce the risk?

1.Do men shed virus from penis head as well as the shaft?
that is possible, yes, just less likely1b. Any difference in circumcised versus uncircumcised?
It is likely that circumsized me she virus less than those you are uncircumcised.2.Does sucking a penis head with no lesions for 10sec or less pose a risk for oral hsv2?
Some small risk of the parter has HSV 2, but the risk for 10 seconds is incredibly small2b.Does immediately(within 30 sec) using alcohol based mouthwash after 10 sec of performing oral reduce
Maybe – we really don’t know, but it can’t hurt.Terri
