Hi Terri, Great work here!
Last week, a male with confirmed HSV2-Gen performs oral on a female partner that is HSV negative? Can he transmit HSV2-Gen orally in this way? No sores or cuts on male mouth. Concerns?
Issue was discussed prior to, condom was used as well, however, intercourse was minimal due to performance issue.
Female understood at time, however, is worried now that more research was done on her part. As is male.
Male takes Valtrex 500 every other day. No outbreak leading up to or on day of, however, the next day as luck would have it, early sign of a blister near the head. Same area as initial outbreak back in 9/22.
Increased Valtrex to 1000 two times a day.
At what point would be best to get tested if female shows no symptoms? 14 Days? 21? Read multiple things online.
Thank You!

There is no risk to the female for HSV 2 infection in this situation. Are these your labs or hers?
Suppression with Valtrex should be 500 once a day – not every other day – to be effective in reducing transmissionTerri

Thank You Ms. Terri!
Those are my results, male. These were to confirm my initial results from Sept. 2022 which were:
HSV1 IgG 15.80
HSV2 IgG 7.28Prior to those initial results Sept. 2022, I had only had one suspected outbreak, which were bumps on the head. At the time, I didn’t know what it was. Painful, nothing white, and gone within a week. No meds. I moved on without giving it much thought. This was roughly a month prior to Sept. 2022 when I tested, so July/August. Is is possible that this was my initial outbreak? The outbreak in Sept 2022 is the only one with the burning, white ulcers on the shaft near the head, and and very painful. No other issues during the rest of my life prior to.
How is length of time with HSV2 determined?
At what point should female confirm with a test?

It is possible that this was in initial outbreak, but I doubt it based on your values.
The duration of infection is determined only when an antibody test is done right when you first have symptoms, and the antibody test is negative (IgG), then subsequently becomes positive.HSV 2 is almost never transmitted by giving oral sex, but HSV 1 could be transmitted in this way. I’m not clear that the female involved needs HSV 2 testing.
