Hi Ms. Warren I did something stupid 2 months ago I had sex with a prostitute I used a condom and I didn’t see anything noticeable in her vagina, the sex lasred about 4-5 minutes, after the 1st minute I grabbed my balls or scrotum to avoid making contact with her vagina, probably less than half of my penis went indide her. sorry about my english. I wasnt worried about herpes until 6 days later that I was stupid And had protected vaginal sex with my girlfriend but she gave unprotected oral sex to me, and about 17 days later she had something that looked like a canker sore inside her mouth in the piece of skin that connects the botton lip to the gum & thats why I’m scared and I keep looking at my genital area & I noticed something that looked like an insect bite a little bit barely noticeable piece of skin peeled on my scrotum on wednesdaay at 5pm & today when I woke up it was gone you can barely see that it wad there, it didnt hurt or anything, all this is making think that I have herpes and that I gave it to my girlfriend. Before this I was negative for both types of herpes, & I tested at 6 weeks post genital herpes exposure & I was still negative for genital herpes, now I’m at 8 weeks post exposure & very anxious, can I show you the picture please?

Sorry, you cannot show it to me. But the sex that you had seems very safe indeed more safe than most that I hear about, in fact. Canker sores are not herpes, different problem. And 17 days would be too long for herpes to take to incubate anyway.

Honestly, I think you are OK with this encounter. The lesion that you describe, which sounds quite small, does not sound consistent with herpes either.

It was inside my girlfriend’s mouth, are cold sores always on or outside the lip? Can they be inside the mouth? & what do you mean when you said 17 days is too long for herpes to take to incubate? She got what seemed like a canker sore 17 days after she did unprotected oral sex to me, I worry because she had never had anything like that before in 2 years of me being with her, & she got it after I made this mistake.we had never had sex with anyone else before until I made this mistake. My lession on my scrotum was bare noticeable & after 40 hours it was completely healed & unnoticeable, can herpes heal that quick? When would testing be conclusive for me in this situation? I tested today at 8 weeks I’m waiting for my results

In my experience, oral herpes rarely presents in the mouth.
When people display symptoms of herpes after first getting it, those symptoms show up within 2-10 days most always. That’s what I meant by 17 days is a long time.
Also, the skin of most of the scrotum is quite thick and unlikely to be penetrated by the herpes virus.
In terms of testing, I would advise waiting 12 weeks for a final test though again, I think your risk is really very low. If you want to renew, please let me know your 8 week test results.
