Hi Terri,
First off, thank you for investing your time to this cause.
I believe I may have been misdiagnosed, no intercourse happened, both of us were nude, i was erect and rubbed up against her and it felt like razor burn, i immediately felt discomfort on the tip, 48 hours later it seemed to be a cut, so i treated it with vitamin e and it just made matters worse, i thought it was a papules irritation/cut. 3 days later i went and got a PCR test, by this time it was already healing and formed a scab, the results came back a week later, 2 detected. i then was given val 1x a day 1000mg which was not given to me until after the test came back a week later, i took it for a few wks and stopped when it cleared up. i read in one of your forums that there is a possibility this could be a staph infection instead?
10 wks after pcr diagnoses, I took the IGG, came back positive for 1 and negative for 2. i have never had a cold sore in my entire life, ever, so could i have had 1 on my penis instead of 2? it now has been 22 months and i have not had one outbreak since the pcr, i have not taken val since the first few wks, so i am very confused if i even have it? when erect i do have a little scar from it but thats it.
my doctor seems to be confused about it too, though believes an IGG test is just as good as a Western Blot, which I requested but the doc doesn’t believe it is necessary, and i do not believe they offer it, but i need to know for sure if i have 2 or 1. is there a way to get a western blot from univ of wash if i don’t live in the area? im just really surprised i haven’t had another OB in 22 months..

Yes, you do need a western blot and I can help you get that if your doc will not order it. This is quite confusing but we do know the Igg test misses 8% of HSV 2 compared to the western blot. We need to have a video conference – you can register for that by clicking on the box that says video conference on the home page. The total charge for the consult with me and the test itself is $314. There will also be a charge for someone to draw and spin your blood and there will be a shipping cost as well. If you want to do this, you can order the test kit yourself ahead of time at 206-685-6066 so you have it when we talk, if you want to do with this me

Hi Terri,
I will go ahead and order this test kit. Then reach out for a video conference. btw the IGG for 1 was 1.09 equivocal and for 2 no number was registered just said less than .9 negative
Thank you

Good. This will clarify the situation for both HSV 1 and 2.
