Thank you for your response. I am trying to figure out the safest way for me to carry on my life.
1. if I am not on suppressant medicine and I do not receive oral sex and I do not have an outbreak what are the chances of passing the virus on.
2. Even though I have no outbreaks and I am not in a relationship I would like to feel as normal as possible so that I could have a relationship. Would suppressant medicine help with that?
1. If you are not on suppression, you do not have an outbreak, you do not receive oral sex AND your partner knows about your herpes (if you have HSV 2) and you have sex twice per week, the average transmission rate from female to male is 4% per year and for males to females, 10% per year.
2. Yes, suppression not only helps with transmission but also it reduces the frequency of outbreaks..
May I ask how you were diagnosed?
Terri
