Hello.
I tested positive for HSV2 in September 2022 at an index level of 1.40 AI.
I get tested 6 times afterwards in the next few months with varying IGG levels, however they all come back negative and equivocal.
All of them were IGG tests, one of them was a PCR blood test.
Test 1(IGG):1.40AI (0.90 reference range)
Test 2(IGG): Negative (no index value)
Test 3(IGG): Negative (no index value)
Test 4 (PCR, blood): not detected
Test 5: 0.47 (0.80 reference range) negative
Test 6: 0.9H doctor read as negative , or equivocal
Test 7: <0.2 (0.90 reference range)
I also wanted to add that I have gotten multiple swab tests done. Of my hands, my throat, my labia and my mouth. Even though there were no sores all of these tests came back negative.
My doctors all say I do not have herpes. But I wanted to ask your opinion.
I’m not sure if I had any symptoms at all; if I did, I did not notice.
Please advise on if I actually have the virus or not. I’m worried sick that I might have infected my partners or other people through regular skin to skin contact, like shaking hands or touching someone’s hair through my hands. Sharing cups and pencils and makeup? Is it possible to transmit HSV2 in this manner?
Additionally, what are the chances of me being a false positive?
I would absolutely agree that you don’t have HSV 2. Your subsequent negative and equivocal suggest this very strongly. Also, herpes is not transmitted via shaking hands or touching hair. it is a sexually transmitted infection. If you can’t let this go, you could do the western blot but I feel quite sure that you are not infected.
