I’ve tested negative at 20 weeks on IGG test post exposure for HSV-2. I still find myself finding bumps in my groin area and one on my actual member. Should I consider getting a western blot done or would a 20 week negative IGG be conclusive?
I have not taken any antivirals, I did take some L-lysine before about a few weeks ago so unsure if that would affect my antibody test.
Also forgot to mention, I took a test at 12 weeks and 16 weeks. Both were negative. Also when I have had a bump it’s been a single bump each time. They have not bursted into ulcers but one of them did appear to be fluid filled once it was squeezed on. None of them have hurt that bad but then again I have a higher pain tolerance than normal.
Is it common to be negative on a IGG but be positive on a western blot? Again I have not taken any antiviral medication. How much would the western blot cost?
Ill go ahead and get a western blot ordered if possible
The IgG misses 8% of HSV 2 infections compared to the herpes western blot. If you want to get the western blot, you can do that through your own provider or I can help you. If you are doing it through your own provider or me, order the kit at 2006-685-6066 and have them sen it to you. It takes about one week to get the kit

How can I do it through you? Also wanted to ask do you often see a positive western blot with a negative IGG?
If you want to do the blot through me, follow the link on this website to “get a western blot’. I believe I answered the second part of your question in the answer prior to this one.
