I waited 6 months to get tested after exposure (1.98 IgG and Negative Supplemental from LabCorp) then I got tested two more times (1.88; December 2022 & 1.50; April 2023 the last 2 were Quest). I’ve read multiple posts of you saying a negative supplemental almost always matches up with the WB but i’m still scared of passing it on and I want to take another Labcorp test but you said in another post that they ran out of the biokits that they use. After a round of antibiotics, for the past two months straight (burning in the vagina, sharp pains in the vagina and within the clitoris, & an itchy vulva and anus) and these symptoms have been consistent for months. One time I also had a really really small red bump on my perineum that burned when urine went over it but it didn’t itch, nor did it scab and I couldn’t get it swabbed because it went away so fast and there was no fluid coming from it. Haven’t gotten another one since. I know I should just get the WB but i’m in college and can’t really afford that right now. I haven’t seen any open sores, and I even went to both the ER and Gyno when my vagina got really inflamed and itchy but they didn’t find any sores. Along with the symptoms for the past 2 months , my left leg & sometimes the left arm tingles or goes numb, my left leg will go numb from the left side of my vagina all the way down to my leg but I haven’t had that problem recently since I started taking Vitamin D (i’m really vitamin deficient if that makes a difference). and this numbness/tingling started out of nowhere and happened everyday, sometimes as soon as I woke up in the morning. Now the only area that really tingles still is my left foot and sometimes my inner thigh. I also have this red/discolored/hyperpigmentation area on my perineum that’s been there for over 6 months, it almost looks cracked/wrinkled but it doesn’t hurt and it’s not itchy so I doubt it was caused by HSV.

If this helps the genital contact was F to F and I know there’s little research on this. I’ve always tried taking valtrex multiple times and it didn’t change the symptoms, I haven’t had any open sores, just the full leg tingling, numbness.. sometimes it happens to the left side of my vagina also where it just feels off but never see anything on my skin.

There is excellent agreement between people who have negative supplemental tests from LabCorp who then go on to have negative western blots. Herpes symptoms don’t go on for months like yours have been doing. If you want greater certainty, do the blot but I’m betting you are negative. The leg issues you are having could be due to many things, like disc issues with your back. You could also try having the area swab tested when you have symptoms as another way to approach this.

The sharp pains died down, though they still do happen sometimes. The tingling/pins and needles started spreading to my left arm and hand, sometimes my neck so I agree with you that it’s not hsv2 because this has been going on for 2 months now. I still continue to check down there everyday just in case.
If I was infected shouldn’t my IgG be more than 1.50 after a year ? I wish I wasn’t in school rn so I could pay for the blot
but yes my only symptoms have been tingling and on and off itching, I thought I might’ve seen something on my skin but i’m pretty sure it was just hair bumps because they never opened and there’s about 3 of them scattered and by theirselves.
the positive IgG definitely threw a curveball at me even though I got a negative supplemental, the tingling throws me off so bad and I just want to let it go. Whenever I can afford the blot i’ll make sure to let you know !
One more question , if it was a a hsv sore , would it leave scars on my skin after healing ?

Sometimes herpes lesions leave scars but not often. In people of color, the pigment can go away for a while but normally returns after a while.
The tingling is quite vague, and I’m not concerned about that now.
The prevalence of HSV 2 in college students entering the University of Washington is 3% (determined by the blot). So between that, your very low index value and negative supplemental test, I think you don’t have HSV 2.Terri
