My test results came back with
HSV1: 6.48
HSV2: 6.58
I have never had an outbreak ever. I was with the same partner for 5.5 years and she is clean. Before that I only had three different sexual encounters which were very short lived meaning I only slept with them 1-3 times. This was about 6-7 years ago before I met my gf.
Are you saying that your current partner has tested negative for HSV 2? If she has not been tested, we cannot know that she is not infected because 85% of those infected with HSV 2 deny any symptoms of herpes.
If you were my patient and your partner actually tests negative for HSV 2, I would recommend that you obtain the herpes western blot for confirmation of that HSV 2 value. I’m quite sure the HSV 1 will confirm but we’ve seen several false positives in the range of 6-7 on the IGG test as compared to the blot.

Yes, my partner tested negative for both HSV1 & HSV2. I have never had an outbreak. I don’t know if this helps but I did have chicken pox and I am African American. Going through your forums, I saw that there is a certain proteins in African Americans that can be mistaken for HSV?
Thanks.
