      Hey Terri,

So on 10/21/2022, I tested negative for HSV1.
On 12/27/2022, I received a high positive 9.39 score. I have had oral sex between those dates, and none of my partners have had confirmed tests done.

However, I have contracted Covid19 infection and tested positive for that the other day.

Question: Is it possible that my reading is a false positive? Can covid potentially throw off an HSV1 IGG score?

Interesting. The first test could have missed your HSV 1 infection. That is more likely than you becoming infected between the two tests but you certainly could have been – I just don’t know. I don’t believe COVID confused the testing, no. So none of the partners you’ve had between those two dates tested for HSV 1?

Yes one has tested positive for it, I confirmed it.

So are there massive complications with patients having HSV1 and HIV?

There are no complications I know of, having both HSV 1 and HIV. I would say at least half of those testing positive for HIV also have HSV 1, probably higher.
