Nude body to body massage risk for herpes

I am living in Netherlands, a guy of east Indian origin, I took a really bad decision and went for a body to body massage with warm soapy water and some gel at a good reviewed institute and the masseuse also had good reviews on various site. It was a terrible judgement from me and I pity myself for that.

The exposure was 6 weeks ago from today. The massage included her sliding over my naked body with her naked body with soapy warm Water and gel. First she slided over my back and her front part of the body mainly breasts and then I turned over and she massage my genitals with her lower part of the thigh and feet. She also slided a bit up and her legs were closed together. But I really doubt if any part of her groin came in contact with my unprotected penis for few seconds to a minute.
She then masturbated me with the same soapy water and nuru gel mix using her breasts and hand. I massaged her breasts a few minutes. There was no kissing and my lips never touched any part of her skin. I climaxed and I took me a shower and washed myself clean. There was no oral or vaginal sex of any kind and I didn’t touch any part of her genitals with my hand.

Regarding my sexual history, this is the first and only time another person’s skin has been on my genitals. I never had any kind of sex ever in my life and I am still a virgin. I have never kissed anyone on lips in my life and never had any cold sores.

In my medical history, I am diagnosed with an auto immune condition of Thyroid called Graves disease which causes itching in legs and tingling in my legs and arms sometimes. The Thyroid disease also affects one of my eyes.

After 1-2 days from massage I noticed red cut like symptoms on my penis glans near my urthera. I went to GP as soon as it came he said its not a herpes lesion and is just an irritation due to the soapy water gel and a bit of intense masturbation. I anyway asked the GP to swab test it and came back negative for both hsv 1,2 PCR

The GP gave me lidocaine cream for applying for pain. I panicked waiting for test and took Acyclovir 800 mg a day for 4-5 days with L lysine and Vit C 1000mg each. I also applied
I also felt my lips were severely chapped and was applying lidocaine also on my lips. It improved in 2 days.

I fear auto inoculations from genitals to my lips. I read its possible during primary stage and I really fear it as I still have chapped lips and dry mouth even now but no sores?? Can it be anxiety driven along with winter and licking lips unconsciously? The GP thinks so.

After 2 weeks of applying lidocaine cream, I got a clear white layer with very bad odor. I washed it away with warm water and went away after washing 2 times in a day.

I panicked a little bit again and went to my GP after 3 days he said seems like Fungal infection and inspected my penis, grain, anal area and prostate.
I also had a constipation and felt urinary rentation. He said my pelvic muscles are very tight and is due to it? Is it possible?

He said again no sign of lesions and nor herpes. He gave me anti fungal cream. But I was not satisfied and asked for blood test. He ordered IgG and IgM tests at 5 weeks and 2 days from exposure. Got the result negative of both hsv 1,2 using a titer method with value saying <231. I don’t know the nominal value of normal tests.

Will taking Acyclovir for 4-5 days give a false negative at 5 weeks from exposure.??

At six weeks the red spot came back at same point and also 2 other small cuts a but away from it and also a zit in my thigh with a tick like ingrown hair. It stayed like that till now for 5 days. Went back to GP again and swabbed the red spot again for PCR test and it came back negative again for both hsv 1,2. The swab test irritated the area a bit. I felt a bit burning sensation during peeing sometimes. I used the fungal cream again and it seems to help within a day.
Can you please give me the possible risks of contracting hsv? Still worried a lot

It is always important to go back to the experience to determine if there any risk and in your situation, there was zero risk for you to acquire a sexually transmitted infection. Zero. And no, 4-5 days of antivial therapy would not impact your testing. I suggest that you avoid further testing – it is not necessary.

I had some follow up questions

1. I am not sure about how much the Groain area of her sliding on my unprotected penis with soapy warm water and gel. I believe it was less than minute or so but not sure. I also read that soap water can kill the virus. But is it instantly killed or it can live outside enough to enter my genital skin? Can you still say the it was zero risk or it might still have a very low risk?

2.I am uncircumcised but I have never got any infection or any white layer on my penis before. After this incident and applying lidocaine cream for 1-2 weeks I get, the white layer of smegma and some drop papules underneath my penis glans and under the foreskin. It came only once in last 48 days and went away after washing with Luke warm water. I also had some pain urinating on and off. I read online and thought it might be balanitis which can also be a symptom of HSV infection. Can it be possible that my primary outbreak was, so mild that it resulted only in balanitis?

3. I don’t know exactly what the titer test they do here for combined HSV 1,2 infection in blood. It just showed <231 And normal as <231. I never read anything about such a test online. How reliable can you believe such a test is when I test 5 weeks after exposure and 5 days of antiviral medicine.? Do I need to check after 16 weeks from exposure again?

4. I have a sore throat since some days and really dry mouth and lips even though I drink water continuously and urinate now without much feeling? Any thing to be concerned?

5. I am now feeling hypochondriac and checking every small bump on my legs and groain area. I see one single black skin tag raised up which I can feel and pull also some really black dots. Also some slight bumps here and there in buttocks. Can it be the primary OB which people miss?

6. I have tingling and pain in my alternating legs, thighs and buttocks? Can these prodormal signs still stay for weeks and not result in blisters for primary infection?

It is instantly killed by the soap. Even if her labia touched your penis for a very short time, I believe the soap present makes this a no risk experience.

Balanitis is simply an inflammation of the head of the penis and is not a symptom of herpes in itself and is mot commonly associated with a fungal infection. Perhaps the accumulation of the cream could also be what is causing the white layer?

Given your experience, I think it is completely reliable.

Hello Terri,

I purchased additional round as I get some symptoms of and off again.
Its 8 weeks since exposure of nude massage. You mentioned it being zero risk due to soap but I am not sure if there was enough soap or it was mostly gel used for the massage. wouldn’t thus put my exposure at small risk??
Her groain area was not my penis the most time but it massaged over my unprotected penis few times. Also her lower thighs and back of her knee cap were around my unprotected penis for massage. I read aymptomatic shedding doesn’t occur on lower thighs but I didn’t see if there was any cut or small sore in her thighs or hands.

I am still getting thing some symptoms like itching in groain, thighs and pain and difficulty on penis while urinating sometimes on and off again. I have not got any visible sores

I stopped using all fungal or any cream on penis glans and the red spot seems to disappear in some weeks but there is a discoloration at the point.

I never had any of these symptoms before and would really like to put this thing behind me. My doctors thing it was just irritation and my mental stress causing these symptoms and becoming hypochondriac and paranoid. But I already am a bit scared by reading too much information and medhelp questions that some ppl take 4-6 months to seroconvert.

I wanted to confirm my status by testing for IgG again . I had one titer test for combined HSv1/2 at 4 weeks and 2 days after exposure and it was negative for IgG and IgM. But I had taken antivirals for first 4-5 days. So I still can’t trust that.
I wanted to do an igG at end of 12 weeks and 16 weeks to be sure but I saw your post on flase positives recently of igG and with the differ testing methods of titer and immunoblot in Europe, I am not sure about the accuracy and a false positive will surely trip me over to depression.
So I prefer to do a straight Western blot for my peace of mind and since it’s lot of work I would like to that around 16 weeks(in june) from exposure

Decided for 16 weeks for best accuracy as I understood it’s a lot of work to ship the blood sample from europe and mostly can do it only once. Do you think 16 weeks is accurate enough?

Would you be able to support me as a online patient and order the test for me?

What would be the total cost including shipping for the Western blot tests? I saw in one post as 314$ but I guess thats not international shipping?

After you ship the kit, What do I require to give as a sample? Just blood drawn or centrifuged serum? Do you know any clinics who could do that for me in Netherlands, Belgium or Germany?

I also think I am turning paranoid and doing the crotch watch and get started by every small itching sensation or pain. Since as u explained earlier I also gave a Thyroid auto immune condition which can also cause itching and tingling with tremors in legs and arms. I really don’t know what exactly are causing these symptoms. The possible hsv or my auto immune condition?

I have seen a lot of questions on this forum where people have similar exposure and no sores and still get symptoms. I have also seen the forum questions where the pain and symptoms turned out to be pelvic tension in chronic stress patients and not HSV.

Would you still recommend me to do the IgG test at 12-16 weeks and if yes what would be the best test as per you closer to western blot in terms of accuracy and do you know if it’s available in Europe?

No,no one I have dealt with has gotten herpes from an erotic massage. Ever. I just don’t think you need another antibody test.
We can do a western blot for you if you like – we need to have a video consult.
We have no clinic any longer – it closed two years ago.
We have received blood from Europe before, yes, but it isn’t easy. and we have to talk first through the video app
