I am 24 year old female, I have never had intercourse before but I have had oral sex. My first experience with oral sex was as a child when I was molested by a teenage boy. He was probably only 13/14 at the time so I do not believe he was infected. A couple years ago I performed oral sex on a man, it only happened one time with this person and the encounter probably only lasted about a minute.
I’ve had oral sex with my current boyfriend multiple times, but before he was with me he had never even kissed anybody.
I was given the IGG test. The results came back as .90 for HSV 1 and 2.06 for HSV 2. I have no symptoms.
If the infection is at least a couple years old would the results for HSV 2 be higher? What can I do from here to be sure if I have herpes?I am fairly certain if I am in fact infected I have had it for at least 2 years (I think it may actually be coming up on 3 years), so should the results be higher?

I forgot to mention that I’ve only been with current boyfriend for a couple months. I’m fairly certain that he is telling the truth about not having any sexual history and I do not believe he has been with anybody else since me.

If he’s not been with anyone else and you have only given oral sex to one person and received it from a virgin once, this has to be a false positive. Nothing else makes any sense at all if your current partner is telling the truth about his sexual history. Has he been tested?

I’m fairly certain he is telling the truth about his sexual history and he has not been tested.
Assuming that my current boyfriend is being truthful, what is the likelyhood that I contracted hsv 2 from performing oral sex on a man one time a couple years ago? Also, I have no issues with my immune system, which I read can make it more likely.
If I do have hsv 2 and have had it for 3 years would the results for the igg test be higher? My value was 2.06.

I think the chances of you becoming infected with HSV 2 by once giving someone oral sex is just about zero. You can confirm with the blot but your history just doesn’t fit if everything you know about this is correct.
