Also can you help me understand how hsv-1g is normally transferred. If I am understanding correctly, it is highly unusual to get hsv1 through genital to genital sex.

      1. So, girls get it from oral sex from a hsv1 – oral positive guy?
      2. And guys most likely get it from oral sex from a girl who is hsv1 oral
      Positive?
I read on another site a doctor said he has never seen hsv1 transferred Genital to Genital even though it’s possible.
      3. I am hsv1 g– so safe to give oral sex?
      4. More risky receiving oral sex – could give it him?
      5. And very low risk with regular sex?

      1. HSV 1 is usually transmitted via oral sex, yes. so the answer to this question is yes.
      2. Yes
      3. I have seen HSV 1 transmitted via intercourse, though it is less likely but I have seen it before, certainly
      4. You could give it to a male partner who is giving you oral sex but remember that HSV 1 genitally sheds far less often than HSV 2 genitally, so it is less likely to be transmitted either through intercourse or someone giving you oral sex.
      5. Yes, low risk with intercourse. The risk is higher in the first year or so of having herpes because the immune system has not yet become skilled at dealing with herpes.
