Hi Terri,
I was diagnosed with oral HSV2 about a year ago and have been avoiding oral sex with my wife. I don’t want to spread it to her, but I’ve also heard the probability of oral transmission is low. I was wondering if you have any idea what the probability of transmission would be if I occasionally (say, once a month) performed oral on her. I am taking daily valtrex.
Thank You
given that oral HSV 2 is definitely a rarity, we also that shedding from the mouth is also very rare with HSV 2.
Were you diagnosed via swab test?
I think with you taking daily Valtrex, the likelihood of transmission to her is remarkably low.
Terri
Hi, yes I was diagnosed with a swab of a sore in my mouth
Thanks for that clarification.
Terri
