Hello, I (38m) performed oral sex on a woman (32f) 11 days ago. That was all we did, she didn’t perform oral sex on me and we didn’t have intercourse. Yesterday I noticed a cold sore on my upper lip. I have hsv1 orally and this is the area where I always have oral hsv1 outbreaks. I actually had a hsv1 outbreak about a month ago and my concern is that, since I recently had a hsv1 outbreak and it’s only been 11 days since I performed oral sex it could be hsv2.
well, it could be HSV 2, not likely but certainly possible. Did you get it swab tested? If not yet, do it and ask for typing.

Thank you for the reply, Terri. I am getting swab tested today. How accurate are the swab tests?
If it is a PCR (not a culture) very accurate.
