I am a 53 years old male. I have recently found out that I have contracted HSV-2. I have never had a break out and was unaware I even had the disease. My girlfriend had an initial break out and went to her doctor and had a blood test and a culture test done. Both came back positive. I went to the doctor and had a blood test done which confirmed I had HSV-2. We both enjoy oral sex. My question is that if we perform oral sex on each other is it possible to have breakouts on our facial and mouth area’s? Thank you in advance for your help.
If you give her oral sex, you are almost certain not to get it orally as you have been infected for a while. For her, if her antibody test was also positive as well as her swab test, she likely has had infection for a while as it takes a while after infection to be antibody positive. How soon after her outbreak did she get the blood antibody test? If she has had this for a while, then she too is unlikely to get get it in a new location on her body.
