I fingered a masseuer, within a second she massage my hand which contained her vagina fluid and proceed to my leg and penis by doing a handjob (all this was less than 1 minutes), 5 days later I have burning urination and flue like symptom(running nose), went to dermatologist and prescribe ceptix, the symptom went a way after 2 days medication, I was freak out and get the masseuer tested for hsv1 and hsv2 and the result came back positive for both, I also get my self tested and it came back negative for both(it was only 17 days after exposure) until now 24 days ,I have no sore or blister but a little discomfort at the shaft and scrotum, what is my risk? And when should I get tested again, I am very worried and cannot sleep st night please help.

I forgot to mentioned a week earlier I lay on top of another masseur and rub my penis at her leg and finally I rub my penis at her stomach while laying on top of her until ejaculated , no intercourse at all, is there a possibility that herpes can shed through leg and stomached skin to my penis, I don’t know whether she has outbreak or not.

No, herpes virus is not shed from thick skin sites like the leg or abdomen. Herpes virus is shed from the genital tract because the skin there is very thin and nerve endings are very close to the surface of the skin. Which is also why sex is so pleasurable. I think the odds are one in a million that you would become infected with genital herpes in this way. A runny nose is probably a simple cold or upper respiratory infection. When we get very close to people by having a sexual encounter, we can also pick other virus and bacteria that they have on their skin. I don’t know what the burning with urination was all about but very likely nothing to do with herpes. I tried to find out what Ceptix is but I”m guessing you live in another country and it is an antibiotic not found in the US so I don’t know exactly what was in it.

In summary, I think you are just fine. Really.

Sorry I mistype, the antibiotic name was ceptik(I live in another country), it use for UTI,dermatologist did not see any herpes lession or sore not even send my uretha fluid to lab ,only prescribe the ceptik because he said I am fine, I actually rub my penis at her thigh (left and right thigh ) also how about the infected vaginal fluid at my penis ,since the masseuse has both hsv1 and hsv2 from the test IgG hsv1=4.31 and hsv2 IgG=4.41.

I still feel pain, irritating and tingling sensation at the right side of my penis near scrotum that come and goes, is this asymptomatic herpes or after experienced the burning and tingling will normally develop blister or sore at 5 days, if no sore or blister after 4 weeks, can herpes be rulled out?, is there any test for herpes that can be conclusive at 4 or 6 weeks? And if I get tested again at 6 weeks do you think the result will be conclusive with my exposure, please help, very scared, thanks for the prompt response, I really appreciate and help to calm down my anxiety.

Sorry, I forgot to mentioned the flue symptom was follow with back pain and only last for half day.

Back pain that lasts half a day is very likely not related in anyway. At six weeks, the IgG HSV 2 antibody test would be about 70% accurate. That is, there is a 70% chance that a negative results would stay that way at a final 4 months test. Also, pain in the urethra that would go away in a couple of days is very unlikely to be herpes. With herpes, that pain would normally be accompanied by sores and would likely also last longer.

Sorry to disturb you again, you really help me a lot, I purchased another 2 question, the running nose were last for half days but back pain stays for 2 days ,I also have a leg pain for about 5 minutes at that time, today I noticed I had a cloudy urine and yellowish urine during morning, i guess it was there since my exposure that I didn’t noticed, i sometimne feel like pain before urine and my penis and scrotum became more sensitive when it touched my boxer, from your experirience do you think that i can acquired Herpes from exposure to her vaginal fluid ? (from my fingered to her hand and from her hand to my penis) since she was tested positive ( please answer)

Can I have herpes in my uretha or inside my penis without showing any sore or blister? (I read an article that a guy have similiar symptom with me and turn out to be herpes positive).

Can Herpes response to antibiotic? ( because I have antibiotic for 2 days and the symptom gone, I mean the burning urination gone but still have pain ( I don’t know how to describe this, sometime pain and some time don’t, but if I touched my penis I don’t fell like i have any pain, but I can feel it some time).

4 month testing is too long for me, I don’t think I can wait that long, it’s driving me crazy, what do you think if I get tested at 3 month?, how accurate is this?.

I honestly do not believe you acquired herpes through touching. No.
People sometimes do have herpes in their urethra yes, but most often they also have external sores.
Herpes does not respond to antibiotics, no. Herpes is a virus and antibiotics are for bacteria.
Well, you should get quite an accurate answer at 12 weeks but 16 weeks for the final test would be better.
Herpes does not cause yellow urine or cloudy urine, no.

This morning when I woke up and pass urine, I felt more pain compare to yesterday, it became less pain the second time of passing urine, I also felt cool(chill) most of the time and have cough since the beginning of exposure and the cough became more often now , is this a herpes symptom?, can uretha herpes sometime cause pain and sometime don’t when passing urine?

If this is not Herpes symptom, what will it be?, should I get back to my dermatologist for a lab test for bacteria?, since he did not do it at the first place but only prescribe the antibiotics, please help.

I think I know the reason why I felt pain the other day when urinating, because I eat quite a lot of chilli, i guest this cause the pain, but I normally eat chilli without any symptom, why now I have burning during urination ?, is it because I have wound or sore at my uretha that cause this?, if not Herpes what could cause it?, please help to answer to calm down my anxiety, thanks.

I’m so sorry but I don’t know why you are having burning with urination. I do not believe it is caused by herpes, though. Are you experiencing blisters or sores in the penis?

No, I do not have sore or blister that can be seen at the penis until now ( not even any red skin around penis or scrotum),But I feel that something that is not right (like pain at scrotum and penis), especialy when I sit in a certain position, now is already 1 month since exposure that cause pain at 5 days, if this is herpes, do you think it can take this long(the pain and burning urination), I am really frustating and hope that this is not herpes, I really appreciated your expertise and help, please help to answer.

I don’t know what you want me to answer. I have given you my most honest opinion and I really have nothing to ad here about what could be going on. Again, I think you are fine in terms of herpes. I do think you are getting quite obsessed with your own body sensations. Perhaps you need to step away form the computer, quit focusing on your penis and involve yourself in other things.

Thanks for the prompt response, I’m sorry that I am asking too much, because everyday it comes to my mind that I might have herpes from the exposure that follow by the pain and all the symptom (flue, back pain, chill, cough, fatique, penis and scrotum pain, burning urination), that freak me out, plus the masseuese were tested positive for herpes, I do believed your expertise in herpes saying that I will not acquired herpes with my exposure, I guess you are right that I am too obsessed with my body and probably my mind were playing treak on me, thanks so much for your help, I will keep you update when I have any news.

I went to another dermatologist at another countries and he put me on STD test at 6 weeks (blood and urine sample), and the result came back negative for all STD like chlamydia, gonorrhea, HIV,VD (Syphilis TP Ab),etc, and below is the result for the Herpes test.

HSV IgM Ab IF = Negative
      HSV Type 1 IgG Ab = 0.15
      HSV Type 2 IgG Ab = 02.0

all the above herpes test is negative, but the doctor diagnose me with prostatitis and prescribe an antibiotics to be taken for 1 month.

      my question is

1.Until now I still have pain at my left groin and testicle, but when I press my groin with my finger the pain gone( I cannot differentiate whether is groin pain or testicles pain), also sometime i still have pain during urination in the morning and also right penis pain at the base near testicles (I do not have any sore or blister until now)

      2. Could herpes cause prostatitis?, from what I understand, sometimes prostatitis is cause by virus although most commonly is by bacteria.

      3. If the pain is cause by Herpes, can the pain last this long? until now since the exposure is already 9 weeks 4 days.

      4. If there is no infection from the above test why should I took antibiotics.

      5. The doctor said the test result is definitive is that because of the HSV IgM test which from what I understand from the internet is that most people will have this antibody soon after the infection?

      6. I plan to test again at 12 weeks and 16 weeks for final test, what do you think of the upcomming result?.

      Thanks for your help.

      1. I don’t know what the groin or testicular pain is but herpes does not usually cause this type of pain.
      2. Prostatitis is not caused by herpes.
      3. See the answer above.
      4. It is not possible to test for all of the bacteria that might be causing prostatitis, but we do know what antibiotics are usually successful in treating this infection, even if we cannot identify a specific germ.
      5. I do not agree with your doctor about the IgM being the definitive test for herpes at this point. The definitive test is an IgG antibody test at 16 weeks. However, I do think it is good news that at 6 weeks, you are still negative by IgG for HSV 2. There is a 70% chance your test results will stay that way.

I have tested again at 12 weeks 4 days, and here is the result

      HSV 1 IgG = 0.42

      HSV II IgG = 0.6 where < 0.8 Negatif , >= 0.8 – < 1.10 Border line , >= 1.10 Positif

      My question is

      1. The above test is negative but I am worried about the value of HSV II which is getting greater where my first test at 2 weeks is only 0.35 and my second test value at 6 weeks is 0.2 but my last test is 0.6, do you think this will affect my final test at 16 weeks that will become even greater or positive?

      2. What are the chances of the result at 16 weeks, what is your opinion?, or have you ever seen a case that the result will become positif after 16 weeks although negative for 12 weeks.

      3. How many percent is the result at 12 weeks?

      4. From your experience and my exposure , do you think i should test again at 16 weeks?

      5. As you know I have taken antibiotic for 1 month, do you think this will affect the test result?.

FYI ,Now, sometime I still have pain at the base of the penis but the pain at the scrotum was gone, I already stop the antibiotic after taken 1 months, do you think I should continue the medication?

There is considerable variability between test results so I am not worried about your test result because it is still negative. This must be considered in light of your experience which was not a risk for acquiring herpes.

      2. What are the chances of the result at 16 weeks, what is your opinion?, or have you ever seen a case that the result will become positif after 16 weeks although negative for 12 weeks.

I think the chances of a positive at 16 weeks are very small

      3. How many percent is the result at 12 weeks?

A guess is that it is probably 90% accurate compared to 16 weeks

      4. From your experience and my exposure , do you think i should test again at 16 weeks?

Yes, I don’t think you will relax until you do a 16 weeks test

      5. As you know I have taken antibiotic for 1 month, do you think this will affect the test result?.

No, antibiotics will not effect your test results.
