Start of February,I had blood in my pee. I thought UTI. STD screening came back neg through vaginal swab&urine, but taken day after sex. I had some protein and WBC in it. He said it’s generally normal. I took the antibiotics, stopped peeing blood, and hurting. Later tested neg in culture for a UTI so he wanted to do medication for a yeast infection. I didnt start it because my problems stopped when I took prescribed UTI medication. Mid March, two bumps on left vagina lip appear. They said does it hurt? I told her not really. Showed her, touched it, squeezed it and said it’s molluscum and doesn’t look like genital herpes, highly doubt it is. Maybe Syphilis, but pretty sure it’s molluscum so use iodines swabs each night. I’ll do a swab if you want since this one looks broken. I told her that the bump appeared a bit after I recently used boric acid supplements, L-Glutamine powder, RAE vagina supplements, and Honey Pot. I was shaving more now since sex and shared a communal bathrooms w/ 30 girls. Work at an athletic store so constantly wearing leggings. I thought maybe hives, staph infection etc. She said not hives. Started iodine swabs and washed with salicylic acid cleanser. Started exploding and then it made it awkward to walk. Tested positive for GHSV-1 one week later. Never got oral or fingered. I was a virgin before. I gave him unprotected oral before and after we have sex everytime. We had sex less than 10 times without condoms. It says typing was confirmed by monoclonal antibody microscopic immunofluorescence. My second OBGY looked at pictures and said yeah it looks it can be molluscum. The guy is football player and molluscum is passed through sports often. I can’t ask for blood results because I went no contact. When confronted, said he never had a cold sore or outbreak and his exs didnt. I never had one either. 2 friends tested pos for Mono and my mom got shingles before so doctor said something about cross reactivity (makes no sense)Pap smear came back neg HPV

More info. The other thing is when I told my 2nd doctor she looked up the testing I had and said the CDC doesn’t recommend that type of testing. (https://www.cdc.gov/std/treatment-guidelines/herpes.htm) Which isn’t helpful because when I look it up it seems most places use monoclonal antibodies or whatever after doing a culture. Plus mines says HSV culture/typing so just seems like they were typing it and not using it directly. (Or maybe they were I wasn’t in the lab lol) The next thing I’m thinking if it was contaminated but my outbreak is gone so I can not do another swab. My doctor said I should do a blood test for antibodies since I’m 3/4 months out and then do a western blot. If I have the antibodies then just accept the diagnosis and if I don’t then raised eyebrows. Or do another STD swab to see if they missed anything in the first place since I did it the day after I had sex and because urine is not super accurate in detecting. But my doctor still pushing it being molluscum since some were dimpled, firm, pearly and kind of domed, and did not really hurt (Again this is subjectivity and appearance only). But in the later pictures it seems like herpes to me. They never scabbed and I don’t think any scars are left behind but I am black and get hyperpigmentation super easily so it might just be blended in. My second doctor asked which lab was it sent to and I have no clue and my chart/diagnosis sheet does not say. I took the swab on my college campus so I don’t know what technology the lab it got sent to has. Then said well since I only had sec with him was January to March it doesn’t seem like it is genital because it doesn’t shed much also. (Not super helpful again.) I wonder if his saliva some how got on me. But my doctor said I have kissed him and no oral herpes so.
I’m just asking what do you recommend I do. Should I just wait to see if I have another outbreak, or should I do the blood test recommend by my doctor then the western blot. Do you think I have it?

This is a bit much to consider but let me see if I got it right.
Youn were a virgin before this partner. You never received oral sex from anyone, including this partner, is that correct?
You had bumps that then exploded into more lesions and one of them swab tested positive for HSV 1, is that correct? And they were painful and made walking difficult? Is that correct?I think it is highly unlikely that the swab test was wrong, if all of the above facts are correct. While it is very unlikely, you could have acquired HSV 1 from unprotected intercourse with this partner or he could have used saliva as lubricant and passed it in that way.
Let me know if you my assumptions above are correct, please.

Yes,virgin before. We had sex less than 10 times (Feb 2-March 18) 7 unprotected. 3 were. All oral on him was unprotected, even if the sex was protected. Never received oral or finger. This was my only partner. No spit lube. I brought lube. Two bumps and once I started putting iodine it exploded. Wouldnt say hurt; it was uncomfortable. Didnt hurt when doctor pressed. Weird to walk because it started to come up on the top of my vagina and crevices of my leg/vagina lip. The iodine might of irritated my skin. Swab is HSV culture w/ typing using monoclonal antibodies immunoflouresence.
Gave him unprotected oral for a total of 15 minutes everytime we had sex. (10 mins before,5 mins after and aggressively) I don’t have any sores orally, which I would expect if he had GHSV-1. He said the last time he had sex was highschool and we are college freshmen. Could be lying.
March 10: last sexual encounter before bumps
March 16: two bumps
March 18: Sex again
March 20: Swabbed and started iodine swabs, stopped sex
March 20-23: More iodine and more bumps
March 23: culture came back positive. Lab sheets say collection 3/21 results report 3/22
March 25: Started low dose anti viral (everyday for a year)
March 27: In morning, every bump was gone, only red skin left behind. Stopped taking them after March 27. Skin returns back to normal, everything is gone.
April 3: One firm pearly bump on inside of my vagina lip. I panicked and took the medication again and it suddenly disappeared after 5 days.No scabbing for either. Just disappeared.
Doctor really thinks it’s molluscum or syphilis because some were dimpled and flesh colored and he does sports. A bit before vagina outbreak I had one small bump on my asshole I thought it was an ingrown. It went away after a week by itself. So now she’s scaring me saying it might be syphilis.
If he took a blood test and it was neg would you doubt the swab?
Is it in semen?
Would you be willing to look at pictures if I paid for a consult? Or no?

This is such an unusual case. The swab tests are very rarely wrong and especially when they are also typed.
I think if I were you, I would wait and do an IgG test in about 6 weeks and see what it shows. It’s a shame you don’t have a baseline antibody test, showing that you were negative.
It is possible that he has genital HSV 1 and you acquired it through unprotected intercourse.
It is also possible that you have molluscum in addition to HSV. Syphilis to me seems extremely unlikely but a blood test for that will give you the answer you seek.Terri
