Hi Terri,
In early February I had unprotected oral sex and protected vaginal sex with a new female sexual partner. Around two and a half weeks ago, I felt some “pimples forming” on the shaft of my penis. In the two weeks since the bumps appeared in earnest, they haven’t changed in composition all that much, especially when compared to the cycle of blistering and scabbing that I keep reading about. The bumps look and feel like a typical pimple that I would find on my cheek, and for the most part are located on the shaft all the way from the foreskin to the base in addition to a few red marks on my pubic area. The bumps have not developed into bulbous fluid filled sacs, and the bumps are no more “crusty” that a pimple on my cheek would be. Additionally, I’ve felt no pain or tenderness whatsoever and have had no body-wide flu symptoms or tiredness.
I’ve been constantly looking up Herpes symptoms online and mine don’t seem to match exactly, but I can’t think of an alternative diagnosis. I’ve attached a photo of the shaft of my penis as well as one of the red spots on my pubic area.
1) Do you think this is Herpes?
2) If not Herpes, what are some alternative diagnoses?
Any guidance would be extremely appreciated! Thanks in advance.
I think it is possible that these are herpes but the pictures are not clear enough for me to be very certain about that. It would definitely be a good idea for these bumps to be evaluated by a professional and swab tested for herpes if they believe they could be herpes. I might think they were molluscum contagiosum except the bases of the lesions are so red and irritated looking. They could also be staph or strep. But these need to be looked at by a professional and viral or bacterial cultures taken. Are you able to go in and see someone about this?
Terri
