Hi Terri. To just give you my medical history, I have HSV1 already and have had it since a kid.
Last Thursday i shaved my scrotum and remember cutting myself in a specific area. Over the course of 4 days (Thursday – Sunday) I was with 2 women. The first girl we did not perform sexual intercourse only oral, and i could of possibly rubbed genitals. The second girl, we did perform sexual intercourse but strictly with a condom. I Contacted both girls asking them about there sexual history and STD status and both said they were clean and do not do these one night things often.
However yesterday I noticed 4 bumps in a straight line on my scrotum, not inflamed just a tiny bit bumpy, a little red around the sides but nothing major. No itching or pain or anything unusual besides these bumps. This as well is the place I cut myself trimming with a razor. But i dont know if this is what cuts usually look like.
What are the chances this is HSV2 and the chances i have been exposed to genital herpes?
Please Help.
THANK YOU. -

I think herpes is unlikely here but it might be worth having a professional take a look at the bumps just to be sure. Are the bumps blisters or just bumps? Herpes would normally appear as small water blisters.

Hi Terri thank you for your response.
The bumps I spoke about aren’t really inflamed they are flat when I stretch the scrotum out. They are located on my penieriel raphe.
In regards to the bumps being possible blisters, no they do not have the characteristics of blisters with puss inside, I tried squeezing the straight line of bumps and no puss came out or liquid. However it did look like their was a bit of moisture but I have been putting antibacterial cream on the mark (Bactroban).
As well the straight line of bumps hasn’t gotten bigger or changed over this period of time, all that has happened is that it’s gotten abit redder but I think that’s because I keep touching and looking at it and I think I’ve irritated it.
I was tested for both strains of hsv earlier this year and results came back with hsv1 positive & hsv2 negative.
Is there something to worry about? Or could this just be a result of the cut from shaving. As well just adding again I spoke to both girls again and they both confirm that they are clean with no symptoms or ever previous symptoms.
Thank you again.

Nothing you have described above sounds anything like herpes to me – not the appearance, the fact that it doesn’t change over time and the fact that it is on the scrotum which is an uncommon location for herpes outbreaks. In addition, you have negative partners and you yourself test negative. Lots of evidence you don’t have HSV 2, in my opinion

Hi Terri thanks again for your reply.
Just a few more questions.
If by day 8 of having this red straight line rash, would blisters have already formed if it was Genital Herpes?
Is it common for genital herpes to form in a straight red line, especially on the perineal raphe?
What are the chances of obtaining both HSV1 & HSV2?

I think it is likely that in eight days of redness, if it was herpes, lesions would have appeared, yes.
It is not common for herpes to present in this way, no.
The chances of obtaining both types of virus at the same time is near zero
