Appprox 3 months ago i hand a happy ending massage, I did not touch the lady, she used hands only. I am not sure if she touched herself as i had my eyes closed most of the time……
Anyway fast forward to now and i have this little red spot on the shaft of my penis. It has been there for three weeks (so 10 weeks after event), it is not sore or blistered but just sits there. During the past two weeks I have felt like crap and started to get these weird sharps “tingles in my buttocks, arms, groin etc. sometimes i will get it in my arm pits a bit also… the glands in my groin are very swollen also.
I decided to have an std test done for HIV, Syphilis and herpes. Everything came beck negative (the test for herpes was a swab) my blood test results come back on Monday (IGg and IGm)
I am wondering what the chances of contracting HSV 2 would be from this? would the 12 week blood test be fairly conclusive? also I have rubbed my eye and it seems to be irritated (nothing visual just like the eye lid is stuck a bit…..) if i am diagnosed what should i do about the eye? i may have by accident touched myself then my eye…………
I am married and my wife knows about all of this. I am concerned about how this will change our lives if I am positive, especially with kids. I do not think of herpes as a dirty disease it is just a condition that people have to live with and I respect anybody that can manage it while going through day to day life; especially the mental side of it.
I appreciate any help regarding this matter, I will be honest i am very down about this and am having trouble thinking straight. But in saying that I don’t think it is fair to people that are positive for me to be crying in my cornflakes about possibly being positive myself.
Thanks again.

the chances of contracting herpes from this encounter are zero. Whether you had herpes prior to this event will be revealed by the antibody testing that you had done. The IgM test should not be done and is notorious for false positive results so please ignore that. Also, the red spot that you describe sounds nothing like herpes to me.

I guess the swollen glands and tingling are leading me to believe this is herpes….. If the women had touched herself or sore would it be possible to transmit in this way with her hand? the spot is approx 1/10th of an inch and is a little raised with what looks like a whitehead (like a pimple). I have not noticed blisters and it has never been sore. Once again i did not touch her at all, the only contact was a hand but she may have rubbed herself, not sure.
By the way I watched your video, great job! You have really created a great resource over the years which is really good to see. The internet most of the time seems to just make things worse……… I have been Dr. Googling as one could imagine. Appreciate your help.

I think the risk of transmission in the way that describe is extremely unlikely. Part of transmission has to do with volume of virus. You have to have a fair amount of virus to transmit it to someone else and the way you describe just doesn’t make sense to me. The bump that you describe also does not sound like herpes in its presentation.
Thanks, the video was fun to make.

I think this is my final post. I received my results back (tests taken at 12 weeks after encounter) Herpes Simplex Type 2 Ab, IgG < 0.2, IgM for both types 1 and 2 was negative.
Herpes Simplex Type 1 Ab, IgG was >8.0 (i have had type 1 for years with only one oral outbreak in 29 years. So i am summing that this red spot is not genital herpes as you have suggested. I am just wondering does your IgG level ever change over time? like if you got it again?
Anyway I appreciate your help, i just thought i would post this for followers of the blog.
Cheers

Index value numbers can change over time, up and down, both as a function of the way the test works (the control value varies with each batch so a person’s sample will vary because it is compared to the control sample) and also likely your immune system may vary some between draws. I am completely reassured that your HSV 2 test results is solidly negative and I don’t believe that you have HSV 1 genitally.
