Hi Terry-
Thank you for taking the time to answer my question. A brief background:
-Prior to this, I had no visual signs of either hsv1 or 2, nor had I been tested for HSV.
-on May 2 I briefly received unprotected oral sex from my female partner, who I have been with for quite some time. Also, lots of masturbation involved. no intercourse. Deep kissing as well.
-on May 9, I noticed one single shallow ulcer looking lesion near the tip of my penis only, directly after I had vigorously masturbated first dry, then with cetaphil lotion. No fluid or Blister that I could see, just a tear in the skin that had become mildly inflamed and looked a bit infected.
-noticed my lymph node had swollen on my right side 3 days later.
-could not get a pcr swab test in time before it started to heal, but did have blood drawn for Igg for hsv 1 and 2, exactly two weeks from last encounter. Both tests were negative at that time. Started Keflax prescrip for the lymph node and all swelling went away.
-no pain associated with the single lesion, and no signs of any others after thorough physical exam by 3 different doctors, who all agreed was not hsv infection. Still to present, no other signs or lesions anywhere on penis.
But i defer to you as to what your expert opinion might be? Masturbation blister or tear? Either way, I would like to be armed with as much knowledge as I can.
Thank you Terry.
Best,
-

Do you know if your partner has any history of cold sores? Has your partner been tested for herpes? I would really deferred to people who have seen this lesion in person as that is more reliable source of information than me over the Internet. Just from your description, it doesn’t sound particularly like herpes to me. The most likely thing it would be if it is herpes is type I infection from receiving oral sex which is why I asked you about your partners history with cold sores.

Thank you for your quick response Terry. I understand. No knowledge of partners history, as I am no longer seeing this person.
I guess my question in more detail is: Does a single lesion on the glans of the penis as a primary outbreak seem like HSV to you?

Not really. But that doesn’t mean it’s not possible but it is unlikely.

I understand. Thank you. Could it possibly be linked to past partners candida, or a dermatitis from masturbating with soap?
Greatly appreciate your time, Terry.

I doubt the soap issue but maybe a partner’s yeast infection.
