Hi Terri – thanks for all you do. This forum has been immensely helpful over the years.

      HSV2 positive diagnosed in 2019.

Only 2-3 outbreaks ever, typically preceded by Prodrome tingling sensation.

Haven’t had an OB in over a year.

Recently over the last 2-3 weeks I’ve had a tingling chafing sensation identical to my Prodrome symptoms.

The strange thing is that I’ve had it basically every day for around 3 weeks now.

This whole time, since I first felt the sensation I started taking 1000mg of valtrex since I was anticipating an OB but it never came.

And the 1000mg valtrex doesn’t seem to help the prodrome symptoms at all.

There are no visible rash symptoms or anything out of the ordinary.

My question is : is it possible to have prodrome symptoms last this long even when taking aggressive dose of valtrex?

I’ve never had this happen before.

Would I also be shedding during this time?

      Thanks a ton in advance.

I seriously doubt that this is herpes prodrome, lasting three weeks with no outbreak. It also seems unlikely, given no change to the symptoms with Valtrex.
