3 weeks ago I have unprotected sex with a one stand. Two days later I noticed my penis tingling I needed to frequently urinate. A few days later it started itching and tingling so badly at night. I knew something was up. Upon further investigation I noticed two sores and I should have gone to get them swabbed then and then. The sores weren’t painful or anything they were just there. Anyway by the time I go to the clinic they had started healing.
Around a week later I started have issues with my my bowels. I’m wondering if this was down to the herpes as well.
Anyway it’s been 3 weeks since the encounter and I’m still getting that tingling feeling on my penis head. Should it last this long or am I gonna have another breakout? (No skin has been broken yet) I didn’t take any anti virals, maybe that’s why it’s taking so long to go back to normal.
Does herpes cause swollen testicles? My testicles seem swollen.
My body and legs ache all the time. Could that be from nerve damage?
I’m assuming I have herpes until I do some testing in a few months. I was just wondering what else should a guy look out for in a potential breakout? With my first one I never got pain or too many ulcers and broken skin.

On one hand you say you had sores but on the other, you say no skin was broken. Did the sores not break the surface of the skin? I’m a little confused.
Herpes would not cause testicular pain or swelling, no.
Herpes really shouldn’t cause continual leg aching either – and it doesn’t cause nerve damage.
It also doesn’t cause frequent urination. Have you been tested for other STI’s?

The sores did break the surface of the skin. They weren’t painful and healed really quickly. Those are the only sores I’ve seen. I did ask what they were when I visited the clinic and they brushed it off as nothing. It’s just too coincidental for me that they came a few days after the sexual encounter.
I’ve had tests for a UTI and STIs, the sexual health clinic and my doctor can’t seem to find what’s wrong. I tried anti virals for a few days and I thought they were working till today. The itching and tingling is back. It seems to get worse at night and when it’s warm. Do you have any idea what else it could be.
I do have low iron and pre diabetes, do you think that could be the cause?

I think herpes is not likely here but you could have it, based on the initial sores, though most often, new herpes would be at least tender if not painful. If you want to do an antibody test in the future for herpes, which I think you should do, I would suggest really limiting the use of antiviral medicine now. Have you been checked for scabies?
Low iron and prediabetes would not be the cause,no.

If it wasn’t for the initial sores which came a few days after the encounter I probably wouldn’t be that worried about herpes. I have no idea, they swabbed the area and put it under a microscope. My genital areas has been examined by 2 nurses and a doctor on 3 seperate occasions and they haven’t come up with anything definitive. I stopped taking the anti viral medication. I’ll just have to wait another 2 months or so to get a blood test and find out the exact problem.
One more question, would heat make genital herpes worse? Cos that’s when the itching and tingling comes on, when it’s really hot and late at night too.

Heat would not make herpes worse, no.
Was a culture sent out or was it only examined under a microscope?
