Hello Terri,
OHSV1 for 10+ years.
I recently touched my lip during prodrome, then about 30 seconds later touched my mons pubis (didn’t touch any areas of the vulva.)
I immediately used an alcohol wipe and disinfected the area then showered using body wash on the area.
What is the likelihood I transmitted HSV1 to my genitals? Thank you
Zero. Once you have HSV 1 in one location on your body, it is extremely unlikely you would get it in a new location. IN addition, the skin of the mons pubis is too thick for virus to penetrate with no break in the skin. I would suggest you not give this another thought.
Terri
