Probably a question sparked by anxiety more than anything else but thought it would be worth asking.
My mother suffers from hsv outbreaks in her nose occasionally and has a sore currently that she’ll occasionally scratch at. While visiting she scratched the head off an ingrown hair on my neck. I then picked at it, eventually wiping it off with an alcohol pad.
Given her hand/nails may have scratched the sore in her nose recently how concerned should I be about transmission given that there was friction and open skin (after the initial scratch)?
Thanks
I think you should not be concerned about transmission from her cold sore in her nose to your neck. Fingers and hands are not good methods of transmission.
