Hi Terri,
I am a F who has a male partner that recently tested positive for HSV-2 (IgG 2.2). He has never had any symptoms and had the test done without him knowing during his annual. We have been together for about a year and have always had protected sex. He had subsequent testing done (about a week after receiving initial results) and tested positive again (IgG 2.05 with pos supplemental through labcorp). I then tested and am negative. With his results being under 3.5 and with him never having an outbreak or symptoms, would there be a likelihood that they are false positives? I’ve mentioned the western blot to him but want to get as much info as I can so he and we can decide what next steps to take.
Thank you so much for your time!
I do not trust, for a moment, the supplemental positives from LabCorp. I now have well over 100 patients who tested positive on the supplemental test from labCorp and negative on the western blot. I believe that he needs to do the blot for clarity, for sure.
Terri
