So last Saturday I had protected sex twice with a new girl. Everything was fine seemed normal. Last Monday I had protected sex with a different girl and it was protected but very rough and lasted a while and the condom got really dry during it and when I removed the condom I noticed what looked like friction burn on areas right below my penis head on the shaft. Of course I freaked out and went to the ER and the doctor said it didn’t look like herpes. They said they would normally swab but there was nothing to swab.
Over the last week the friction burn has been healing slowly but it is taking longer than I’d like but it’s on such thin skin I think it keeps opening up again so taking a long time.
I’ve had instances previously years back where I get friction burn in a similar spot from masterbation or a handjob and it causes me to freak out for a while. I’ve had many igg tests and a western blot through you in years past bc of my anxiety about this. All have been negative.
So the other day after this I just had another igg test which was negative. Should I wait 12 weeks and have another test or just move on with my life?
Realistically my anxiety will probably make me test again at 12 but just wanted to run it by you. I hate that I have such obsession about this topic but this is who I am I guess…
Does this sound like something I should be worried about???
Thanks as always

Sorry one clarification. When I said I went to the ER, I went like immediately right after sex when I noticed the abrasions.

If these abrasions are similar to what you’ve had before AND your western blot was negative, then herpes seems unlikely, especially since you used a condom.
If this still concerns you, get another blot and put your mind at rest, but you could start with an IgG and if negative, think a bit more about it. Worry is so distracting!

I think I will do a blot through you after 12 weeks. If I used a condom wouldn’t the shaft/top of my penis be protected from exposure?

Sorry that was unclear.
I got a igg negative test recently so if I did somehow get hsv from the Condom used encounter the other day wouldn’t the outbreak be somewhere the Condom didn’t cover?
Sorry I hate that I obsess over this and don’t like myself sometimes bc of it.

Yes, using a condom greatly reduces transmission but they are not perfect. And yes, the outbreak, if you did get infected, would likely be in the area not covered by a condom.
