Yes, I have had HSV2 for six years or so and haven’t had an outbreak in three years even then very mild. Is there any downside to having sex with your partner when they may be having outbreak? If she was having outbreak it was so small I couldn’t really tell.
If you both already have HSV 2, there is not a downside to having sex if one of you is having an outbreak

Well we don’t date exclusively anymore so I guess my real question is does the exposure such as I described above do anything to me in terms of making me more likely to then infect another. I almost never have outbreaks or symptoms so I wondered if that encounter could somehow change that and make me more likely to infect another like starting over so to speak. Hope makes sense.
It does make sense – I think. So are you asking if you had sex with someone who also has HSV 2, is that more likely to have you experience an outbreak and more likely to cause you to infect someone else? The answer is no.
