› Forums › Herpes Questions › Really confused
I was tested last February and I never looked at my paperwork. I just trusted the doctor. Today however after reading information on other sites I looked and now I’m really confused.
It says HSV1/2 IGG AB at 1.12
Then HSV1/2 IGM AN at 1.11
Then second page say
HSV1 glycol g Igg negative
Hsv2 glycol g Igg negative
The Dr told me I had both
1 and 2 . I had one small sore that my dermatologist said was an ingrown hair.
I am not sure how to proceed. If I am going to retest I may as well put the money toward the western blot. However when I looked at the testing centers for AnyLabTestNow there are no centers. I am in central my. Are there other labs I could go to? I would like to use you as my clinician. Unfortunately you don’t have any appts next week. Should I go ahead and order the test or wait till we speak?
Also how much is the test I may have missed it. What is your charge to be the clinician
Thank you so much for all your help
The IgG glycoprotein test is the only one you want to pay attention to. You are negative for both HSV 1 and 2. The test does miss 30% of HSV 1 but only 8% of HSV 2. If you want to do the blot, you will have to figure out a place to have this done. I don’t know where central my is? I do have appointments the following week. The total cost for the test and consult is $314 plus there would be a charge for the blood draw and shipping.

I am confused my Dr told me I was positive for both 1 and 2????
I scheduled a consultation with you on Tuesday but are you saying these just say I’m negative?
I am saying that the type specific test says you are negative – the old test, the crude antigen test that was done for you, is often wrong and I haven’t seen it used in a long time – surprised to see it now. your positive was just barely positive also.
YES, I’m saying at this time, you are negative. The IgG test is also not perfect – it misses 30% of HSV 1 and 8% of HSV 2
