My name is Jim and was recently diagnosed with HSV2 with IgG index value of 2.83. I read somewhere that less than 3.5 would fall in the possibility of a false positive. I wanted to find out if the Western Blot tests are still being done to conclusively determine if I actually have HSV2 or not. If so, what steps do I need to take to get this test done. I am seeing conflicting There is a AnyLabTestNow locally where I live so I could go get the test done.
I look forward to your response.
Thanks
I just noticed that there was a typo in my previous post. Please use this one instead.

Yes, you most definitely need a western blot – this is a CDC recommendation for everyone who tests between 1.1 and 3.5 on the antibody test.
I can help you get the test – you need to sign up for a video conference with me on the home page of this website – westoverheights.com. On the home page, you will see a big box that says video consults. Click on that and it will take you to the evisit website where you an sign up for a time with me. While you are waiting for this appointment, you can order the kit from the University of Washington, 206-685-6066. You can also see if there is an anylabtestnow in your area – they are willing to draw these samples for us. The cost is $314 for the consult and actual test and I will charge your credit card at the time that you talk with me. You will also incur charges for having you blood drawn and shipping the sample – I don’t know exactly how much that it.
