Got a .89 on IGG HSV 2 I know this is a negative result but is it too high, what are the chances that would go up .01 and become a 90? this result is before I started taking Acylovr.

I need to know a little more to help you sort this out. When was your last sexual contact? Do you know their status? You could have a high negative for a couple of reasons: 1) you are in the process of becoming positive and this is just a number you are passing through and it will soon be a much higher number or 2) you really are negative but just have some cellular protein that is moving the test up on the index value scale .

Knowing about your sexual contacts would be helpful

My last sexual contact was on labor day weekend, i WAS WEARING A CONDOM AND WE HAD anal sex, she has HSV 2 and its on medication….like I said this last test was about 2 weeks after the intercourse…my previous post was titled “possible-hsv2-negative-blood-work-no-blisters-no-rash-but-pain-on genitals”. I got a nother test on october 6 and it also came back negative with a .17 for IGGon HSV2.

So that’s great news that your values are going down instead of up. Very good news. Labor Day weekend is the beginning of Sept right? Not enough time has passed since your last intercourse for an accurate test yet. I would suggest that you wait 12 weeks from the last sexual contact for greatest accuracy and until then keep an eye out for any lesions or unusual genital skin changes. With this newest value, I’m guessing you will be negative in the long run.

Again sorry to ask but acyclovir could definitely be one of the reasons the value went down right? I also have notice change on my skin at the top of my pennies but if im taking acyclovir i should be getting any outbreaks…. they look kind of wattery bubbles but not yellow nor white, they are there, but cant even notice that they would breakout.

How much acyclovir have you taken so far?
I’m not understanding your comments above about the watery bubbles. But if you have watery bubbles, you definitely need to have them swab tested for herpes.
If you want the most accurate test results you should consider stopping the acyclovir as it can interfere with results. Let me know about the acyclovir.

Being on acyclovir for 20 days may impact your test results. I think you should wait about 3 months from time of stopping the drug for an accurate test result, especially since your value was .89
