Several nights ago I (male, HSV1/2-) engaged with a new sexual partner for the first time, who is female and HSV2+. She was not experiencing an outbreak at the time, and was recently diagnosed.
During sex, I masturbated (fingered) her for several minutes, then used that hand to masturbate myself. We proceeded to have sex with a condom, in which there was limited groin-groin contact. After sex I intently washed my hands and eventually took a full shower to clean my genitals and skin.
I know little about HSV2 transmission, but am curious about how risky this encounter was. I have experienced no symptoms so far. I wonder:
1) Should I be worried about having contracted HSV from this encounter?
2) I imagine if I encountered any virus it was from her latent viral shedding. Is the chance of transmission dependent on the dose of the virus one comes into contact with?
Thank you so much!

No

Transmission is somewhat dependent upon the dose of virus one comes into contact with at a sexual encounter correct. We don’t believe that hands are present a meaningful risk of transmission of HSV.
