First and foremost, Terri, thank you for all you do.
Last year I went through difficult time where I went from testing negative via IGG on both HSV1/HSV2 to 4 months later testing positive for HSV1 and HSV2.
      Here is the timeline:

      PRIOR TESTS
      Always Negative for everything

      Possible Exposure 6/27/22
      Tested July 18
      Results all negative

      Tested July 26
      Results all negative

      Tested Nov 23, 2022 – IGG
      HSV1- 38.80
      HSV2- 1.42
      Tested Dec 13, 2022 – IGG
      HSV1- 31.20
      HSV2- 1.26
      (Darkest days of my life)

      Tested Dec 16,2022 Western Blot
      HSV1 – Positive
      HSV2 – Negative

Possible Exposure on July 20, 2023
No intercourse but rubbed my genitals (unprotected) on a female I know genitals for about a minute two times as well as received hand stimulation. This person showed me a STD panel from 3 weeks prior (July 1st) which showed her positive ONLY for HSV1. I saw this straight off of the Quest App. I’ve had what I believe to be no clear symptoms but maybe some tingling and some sensitivity on my penis. No fever symptoms or anything. Paranoia took a hold of me and I tested again……

      Tested July 26th, 2023 – IGG
      HSV1 – 25.80
      HSV2 – 1.03 (equivocal)

I know it’s a bit early to test. But can I assume that as long as I re-test in 4 weeks and HSV2 levels are low, that I just carry something in my blood that will always reflect going forward as HSV2 positive? Would 8 weeks out be a fair time to retest? Or 12 weeks with WB?
      Any recommendations?

MADE TIME MISTAKES FOR THIS YEAR:
Sorry Exposure was on July 19,2023 NOT July 20,2023.
Test done on August 18, 2023. was 29 days after exposure.

Your testing was done too early for any accuracy. I would suggest that you consider doing one in another month. You could also wait 12 weeks and do the blot, but remember that you are prone to false positive IgG tests. This time, we are looking for a higher HSV 2 index value to be meaningful
