I am out of my mind with worry.
I have been sleeping with someone new for a month now. During this time I have developed a cold sore and feeling of being unable to swallow and dry mouth.
I have always had coldsores however I have not had one for years and I do not know which strain I have.
Last week ( ten days ago) when I assumed my cold sore had gone ( scab had fallen off) we had oral and genital sex as well as kissing. I still had all the heist symptoms and then A day after I had another cold sore. Since then I have had flu like symptoms and feeling sick. I am terrified I have got genital herpes.
Can I have given myself genital herpes from him kissing me and then proceeding to have oral sex on me or could he have given me a different strain on my mouth to begin with and then also infected me genitally?

Also want to note that since the first coldsore I have had dry eyes and swollen glands as well as dry mouth and so on.

I am so petrified that I have contracted the other strain to what I have both orally and genitally?? So if I have hsv1 he may have given me HSV2 orally and now gentially??

He did not show any visible signs of of herpes on any occasion

Also I have read so much conflicting information about infecting yourself. Some say it’s possible to have oral herpes and pass it to your gentitals and some say it’s not. 🙁 I have two pimples on my bum. Tiny and red. Should I be concerned ?

After all these years of having cold sores, it is extremely unlikely that you would transfer virus to a new place on your body.
The only way to know if you or he has HSV 2 is by testing with IgG to find out. Your symptoms don’t sound particularly consistent with herpes to me.
And yes, you could have transferred virus from your mouth to his genitals though giving him oral sex.

I am concerned because I have had lots of discharge this week ( more than usual, started as clear to white and now its tinged with brown) and I have these two pimples on my bum. They are red and the area surrounding them is white. The one is almost healed and has turned a purple colour under the skin (he kissed me and then licked this area) my flu symptoms have nearly gone and my eye doesn’t feel so dry. But I am so scared I have gotten genital herpes and I am expecting more of these pimples to appear any day now. It has been ten days. I have read in places that people can infect themselves this way. Is there any statistics or am I unnecessarily worrying ?

Where do I pay again? I am also having aches in my legs and groin area as well as lots of discharge. I am terrified!! I wouldn’t cope well if I had genital herpes as well. I am petrified.

Hi Terri

So since I posted I have been to the clinic. I had a hole above my labia, which was not there before. It wasn’t sore or red. Just like a hole in the skin. They told me it was not herpes. However I took just two anti viral Aciclovir a few days previous to get rid of my coldsores. Would this have affected this if it were to be a blister or a sore ?
My right groin gland is swollen slightly and I’m still having pain in my right leg. Its like nerve pain. I’m petfired I have got this. I feel like I’m going to be waiting forever for an outbreak because I’m so convinced.

Just to add I haven’t had any itching or anything downstairs. I’m quite certain the hole was not there before and could this have been forming into a blister and those two tablets stopped it? I’m concerned why my right groin gland is swollen and my right leg is aching. I feel as though it’s all related to this.

I doubt that if you have HSV 2 and this was a lesion that two acyclovir would have stopped it from becoming more full blown. Have you repeated your antibody test?

I’m more concerned that I have cross contaminated myself. He kissed me when I had a coldsore and then licked around my bum and this area was really dry to begin with but no so much anymore

I put e45 cream on it at the time and it went away but is this likely to form blisters at some point ?

So the red dry area on my bum which he licked after kissing me along with all the nerve pain in my leg and discharge ect could have been cross contamination ? I’m so worried. I have no answer and I feel now I just have to wait and see if I get an outbreak? X the e45 cleared it up. Would that happen if it were herpes?
