I recently went to my dr because I hadn’t been in quite a while. While there the dr did a full panel for stds along with other bloodwork (diabetes and such). I asked for the tests just to have a 100% clean bill of health….everything came back normal except for the hsv igg tests. I’ve never in my life had any symptoms of anything like herpes orally or genitally. I know it’s not a good test at all but the igm test came back negative for both while the igg test showed a 0.94 for hsv 1 and a 2.92 for hsv 2. It says on my paperwork the tests were done at Solstace Lab Partners. I am attaching photos of the results but I’m TERRIFIED!!! If you think a WB test would be in my favor then please tell me what I need to do to get one.
If I am reading this correctly, it appears that you test positive for HSV 2, yes. You are in the low positive range and thus need confirmation with a second test, preferably the western blot. Your HSV 1 is also kind of edgy and may prove to be positive by western blot as the screening test is not great for HSV 1. With a 2.92, there is about a 35% chance that this is a false positive, so there is definitely a chance. Our clinic can arrange for this to be drawn at a Quest lab near you. You would need to make an appointment to arrange that. We may still have openings for tomorrow. Or you can contact the University of Washington directly about this to have a kit shipped to you. Let me know if we can help.
