Hi Dr Terri,
I’m writing with a self inoculation question… I have oral HSV1, negative HSV2 via western blot. I had a male partner visit and stay the night. I had an active cold sore on my lip (weeping a little/crusting a little) We did not kiss on the lips, he kissed my body. We touched each other’s genital and anal areas sexually and shared a bed. We cuddled, etc. I’m worried about touching each other when I had an active cold sore and the possibility of giving him or myself GHSV1 via hands.
Could I get GHSV1 this way?
Could he get GHSV1 this way?
The answers are no and no. You did a great job of being safe. Congratulations!
Terri
