Hope you are doing well. Last we chatted back in February, was trying to wrap my head around whether I had HSv1/2. Blood test showed hsv1 positive and not for hsv2. Ever since I’ve initially reached out (even before I wrote you), I’ve had very strong sensations in my groin( penis and testicles), thigh areas, butt and down to knees on both legs. Can be a sharp pain, can be tingling, can be dull long pain. Never seems the same each time. I’ve inspected every inch of my body, can’t seem to find a sore or what I’d consider a sore anytime I have these sensations. I’ve gotten to the point where I’m breaking out handheld mirrors and lifting my legs and shining lights to try to inspect every nook. The sensations range from hmm i feel that but not really bothersome to oh damn, that hurts and can stop me in my tracks. Is there any chance that these sensations are caused by hsv or do you believe something else is at play here? Unfortunately my doctor has pretty much Refused to keep talking about this with me, saying that this is all mental since all the other blood work and testing I’ve done so far keep coming back negative.
If the IgG is negative for HSV 2, there is a 92% chance that you don’t have HSV 2. If you’ve never had a cold sore, we cannot know if your HSV 1 is oral or genital. The vast majority of the time when people test negative by IgG and report sensations such as those that you report, the western blots is negative. You could always do that test for greater certainty if you wish
