Are the suppressive herpes 2 therapy shedding transmission statistics (for same M/F partners) based on a specific frequency of sex? (ie: 2 times a week, a few times a month, once a month, etc). In other words, do the stats change with frequency? I ask because we are in our 60’s and she and we only have sex about 2-3 times a month and I am postive but she is not and I wanted to know if the 5% chance is reduced if we have such infrequent sex?
Bottom line: They say with daily suppressive therapy the risk or transiting is 5%. Does frequency of sex change that %?
Yes, frequency is definitely a factor. The statistics are based on sex twice per week. So in this case, less is better!
