› Forums › Herpes Questions › Should I get Western blot test for HSV2?
I was tested on 3/10/2022 through Labcorp and my results were:
HSV 1 IgG, Type Spec 30.00
HSV 2 IgG, Type Spec 2.58
HSV-2 IgG Supplemental Test Negative
I was tested again on 4/16/2022 through Lapcorp and my results were:
HSV 1 IgG, Type Spec 23.10
HSV 2 IgG, Type Spec 2.05
HSV-2 IgG Supplemental Test Positive
HSV, IgM I/II Combination .94 (did not originally have this tested on 3/10/2022)
I’ve never had any symptoms, sores, lesions etc. I got a full panel STD testing done and decided to included herpes. Should I get additional testing or do you think based on results I provided that it’s positive case for HSV2?
Both could absolutely be false positives – we have HUGE problems with the LabCorp supplemental test being false positive. PLEASE get the herpes western blot and do NOT settle for this positive.

Thank you! I have scheduled a visit with you for the western blot.
And I believe we’ve spoken. We’ll see how the blot goes.
