Hello
I shared hot pot together with a friend with an active cold sore. The friend didn’t tell me it was a cold sore until after eating together. Initially, I assumed it was a bad pimple. I didn’t use the friend’s utensils, but we did stick our own utensils into the same bowl of hot soup.
What are the chances of contracting herpes from this scenario?

The scenario that you present is not a risk for transmission of HSV 1.
