Hi Terri,
I am still waiting on a western blot because I have never had an outbreak and I got an HSV2 igg of 1.19. I was talking to my doctor and she said that if I have never had prodromal symptoms or an outbreak, those antibodies mean I have just been exposed and that I don’t have herpes. I didn’t know what to make of that because the information online is very unclear.
That is not accurate. A truly positive IgG means that you are both infected and potentially infectious to others. But at that low number, there is a very high likelihood that this is a false positive
