      Hello!
I had my primary OB nearly 3 months ago and have pretty much had symptoms ever since. I suspect the nuvaring I put in about 6 weeks ago has been making it worse, as the 3g of Valtrex I’m now taking per day may or may not be doing much anymore, but a 1g dose did seem to help a lot initially. The main symptom I have is intense itchiness, and sometimes burning. One time this did turn into small bumps (i was on 2g valtrex at this point), which went away when I bumped up to 4g. I also get a lot of little papercut tears (especially after sex) and seem to have anal hemorrhoids or something that keeps coming back. I have read about SADBE and am searching for a compound pharmacist who will help me try that. I’m also taking immune support vitamins, vitamin D, iron, B12, and using topical valacyclovir when I have it and Femmeclear. I do have a lot of stress in my life (lawsuits) and that wont be going away any time soon, but i manage it well. Anything else I should try? I know it’s still new, but it seems kind of insane that valtrex isn’t doing much and I don’t think I’ve had a single day in 3 months where my vagina has felt normal, lol. Thank you!!

How exactly were you diagnosed and with which type, HSV 1 or HSV 2?
I think your dose is way too high for continuous use.
It would be useful if you had genital swabs for HSV when you are having these symptoms. Not everything that happens in the genitalia of people with HSV are HSV symptoms. You are assuming the symptoms are herpes and that Valtrex isn’t working but that may not be accurate – a swab test would tell you if taken when you are experiencing these symptoms
