I just tested positive on the Igg at 1.7. Is this a “low positive”? If so, does that mean the infection was more recent? (as recent as four weeks ago?). What is the real difference between a low positive and a high one? I assume both mean you have the virus.
About 50% of people who test positive in the 1.1 to 3.5 range of index values are false positive – the person is NOT infected. You could also have a low positive because you were recently infected and also you could just have a low positive value and be truly infected. You need to get the western blot but wait until it is 12 weeks from your most recent sexual encounter with intercourse.
