Hi terry.
I am so anxious and am desperate to hear some kind of information before I am able to get in to see a doctor. I took a test and received a 1.04 which says “Equivocal”. I have a history of chronic fatigue related to High levels of Ebstein barr.my health has been not great lately and I believe I could have been flared up when I took the test. Could this impact my result of getting an “abnormal” herpes 2 virus result?
Thank you
CORRECTION: my result was 1.08 not 1.04.
My quest test said 1.09 is the cutoff for positive. I’m right under that
First of all, a high index for EBV is simply saying that you’ve mounted an excellent immune response to that virus.
Second, I have only seen one patient in my whole career who had an equivocal IgG result who went on the test positive on the western blot.
However, if you have recently had unprotected sex with anyone, this test may have been done too early to be accurate. How long ago did you last have sex with anyone?
Terri
