I made a poor decision and had protected sex with someone who I don’t know their status but would assume they have STDs so I took an igg test for herpes even without symptoms which I found out now doctors don’t recommend. HSV 1 came back at 1.6 and HSV 2 came back at 1.26 should I take the western blot and when can I or should I just assume that test was a false positive and move on with my life. I’m young so I can tell you these last few days have been the most difficult of my life. I’m in a lot of pain right now.
You absolutely should take the western blot. At your index value of 1.26, there is an 85% chance that this is a false positive – the HSV 1 also could be!
