It’s unfortunate that you took herpes medicine without a diagnosis but I don’t think you took enough to influence the test. You are negative for HSV 2. Have you ever had a cold sore on your lip or in your nose? Are you aware that you were HSV 1 positive? Can you be more specific about your question for me please? Thanks!

Sorry for the delay in response, I have had cold sores on my lips for majority of my life.
The pain seems to move around my genital area. When I met with my doctor I did specify my concern to be herpes. The blood work they sent was igg and negative to hsv 2 at 19 weeks. When I was at the lab the ladies taking my blood did point out on the lab sheet that this was what we were looking for.
Basically from the 2 neg test at 12 and 19 weeks. I just don’t know what the cause is for my discomfort

I guess what I am asking due to the negative results is there something I should be asking my dr to investigate

have you had a prostate exam? It is possible that you have some prostate inflammation causing these symptoms. So the other thing is that the IgG test misses 30% of HSV 1 and 8% of HSV 2, compared to the wesern blot,so the IgG is not fully reliable.

Yes I did have a prostate exam just prior to sending blood samples. Would a person think he is part of the 8 % as I sent one sample at 12 week online. Second at 19 weeks two different labs.
I have maybe had a few days in the last 6 months that I have not had some sort of feeling of irritation or pain

And that also doesn’t sound like herpes. It is simply not active symptomatically, most of the time.
It doesn’t matter how many times you test. In my personal experience, if the test misses it once, it misses it multiple times.
